A
Dream Theater book entitled
Lifting Shadows is scheduled for release at the end of this year. The "Images and Words" special edition actually consists of two hardback books and a CD in a slipcase.
The aptly titled
"Images" book will contain pictures, unreleased artwork and many other images from the band's past, displayed on nearly 200 pages.
The
"Words" book contains the band's biography. It has new interviews with the band and many other people, including former band members, engineers and musicians like
Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson and
Marillion's Pete Trewavas. DT drummer Mike Portnoy contributed to the book by writing the foreword.
The CD has interesting content as well, with previously unreleased or hard to find versions of tracks like
Another Won, Under a Glass Moon, Caught In A Web and
Metropolis.
The book can now be preordered at
www.dreamtheaterbook.com. Fans ordering early will have their name printed in the book in the
Roll of Honour.
